Rajasthan women bear burdens of different kinds. They are entirely dependent on the sand stone mines, which is the only livelihood option available. Even though mining in this area is an age-old practice, they still employ old methods of working. The wages are as low as Rs. 30 for a daylong hard work. These wages decrease further as the monsoon prevails because of the surplus availability of workers.
